Each year on November 16 we commemorate the life and work of Louis Riel, a dedicated Métis leader and visionary. This is also an opportunity to celebrate Métis culture and to continue our collective journey of reconciliation with the Métis people.

Please join the Law Society of Ontario and the Métis Nation of Ontario on November 15th to mark this important occasion and to learn more about the recent historic self-government agreement signed between the Government of Canada and the Métis Nation of Ontario.

Registration: 2 p.m – 3 p.m.
Program: 2:30 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
Reception: 4:30 p.m. – 6 p.m.

Program details
In June 2019, the Government of Canada signed Métis Government Recognition and Self-Government Agreements with the Métis Nation of Ontario, the Métis Nation of Alberta and the Métis Nation of Saskatchewan. Hear from President Margaret Froh, Métis Nation of Ontario, President Glen McCallum, Métis Nation of Saskatchewan, Jason Madden, Partner, Pape Salter Teillet and Tom Isaac, Partner, Cassels Brock, about the journey ahead.
