Online Examination Requirements
Candidates who have registered for an online examination must also meet the following additional requirements in order to write the examination:
- Download the secure browser software as soon as possible or at least 5 business days in advance of examination date
- Carefully read and follow the instructions provided on the download web page
- Ensure you have administrator rights to the computer that you will use for the examination
- Conduct the pre-examination check of hardware, software, and Internet bandwidth at least 5 days before the examination
- Watch the video about live remote proctoring. The YouTube video is provided in English by a Law Society licensing examination service provider, MonitorEDU. Candidates may access French captioning by clicking on the settings wheel and selecting French (Canada) subtitles/CC.
- Access the Sample Online Examination to become familiar with how the software works
- Familiarize yourself with the features of the software, including the highlight and strikeout feature, bookmarking, note-taking and practise calculations using the calculator.
- Review the Examination Rules and Protocol for Lawyers or for Paralegals
- Review the Candidate Agreement that you must agree to before you begin to write the examination
- Review the online examination instructions
