Administrative History
The County of Simcoe Law Association drafted its Declaration of Incorporation on January 1st, 1890. The purpose of the association was the "formation and support of a law library for the use of its members, to be kept and maintained in the Court House in the said Town of Barrie and to promote the general interests of the profession, and good feeling and harmony among its members". The name of the organization seems to have changed to the Simcoe County Law Association sometime in the late 1980s or early 1990s. Currently, the Simcoe County Law Association is dedicated to enhancing and supporting the practice of law in Simcoe County.
