Biographical Sketch
Joseph Nason was born in Weston, Ontario, circa 1861. He received a BA degree from the University of Toronto in 1881, and was called to the Bar of Ontario in 1886. Though his legal career was based in Toronto and in Weston, Nason lived most of his life in Weston. There, he cultivated an interest in local history and was the first chairman of the Weston Public Library Board in 1914. He also co-authored the book "History of Weston", published in 1937. Nason died on May 13th, 1944, at the age of 83.
Scope and Content
Fonds consists of office records created and maintained by Joseph Nason, a Toronto-based lawyer. These records illustrate Nason's administrative procedures and represent some aspects of his legal work and his relationships with clients, centred primarily in the Toronto, Ontario, and Weston, Ontario areas. The records in this fonds are a mortgage book and a ledger, which includes a number of newspaper clippings relating to Nason's clients.
