Referral fee cap set, transparency measures approved
Convocation approved a cap for referral fees based on a percentage of the legal fee:  15% for the first $50,000 of legal fees and 5% of all legal fees thereafter, to an absolute cap of $25,000. May 1 marks 10 years of paralegal regulation
Ten years ago, on May 1, 2007, the Law Society began regulating paralegals when enabling amendments to the Law Society Act came in to force.   Full story.

2017 Honorary LLD recipients announced
Six distinguished individuals will be receiving the degree of Doctor of Laws, honoris causa (LLD) at this year's Call to the Bar ceremonies. The recipients are:
